NinaI learned about the Cognition’s novel model for delivering in-house legal services from Rubsun Ho, with whom I had attended law school.  I accepted Rubsun’s invitation to join Cognition in 2005.  I joined Cognition because I was impressed by Rubsun and Joe’s standards of excellence in their work, their extensive client and contact network, and their informal attitude and approach.  I was also attracted by the flexibility the Cognition model offered for my outside interests, namely my young children.

I expected that I would continue to negotiate technology agreements, give employment law advice, and manage litigation and IP files.  I did not expect to advance my legal training and experience beyond what I already knew.  My work is high quality, never routine, with enormous responsibility, involving regular interaction with CEOs, Presidents, Boards of Directors, and CFOs, as well as frequent opportunities to negotiate transactions with Fortune 100 companies, primarily in the telecom and utilities sectors.
